How to Create a Denim Finish on Furniture.

For a while I have been wanting to create a denim finish on a piece of furniture. I am going to walk you through the process of how I got this look.

Many of my projects come from the Habitat Resore in Lewisville. I had my eye on this dresser for 2 weeks and finally it went on sale.

Step 1: As always I prepped this piece of furniture.

Step 2: I painted the chest with 2 coats Wise Owl Chalk Synthesis Paint Anchor and let it dry overnight.

Step 3: I created the paint wash with 50/50 mix of water and Bone Paint

Step 4. Here is where you need to work fast. With an ClingOn O40 brush I painted the wash in sections and wiped back with disposable towels. I say to work in small sections because the diluted paint will dry fast. Now, if you feel that you need to wipe back more to get your desired look I used a spray bottle and squirted the area down and wiped back more.Repeat this step until your finished.

Below is a video of how I completed the piece.

Step 4: I sealed the whole chest with Black Sea Salve. I also applied salve inside the drawers to freshen them up
